What you will learn
- •Bring simple, well-fitting equipment.
- •Tell the coach about health and water-confidence concerns.
- •Leave with one clear next step.
Pack for comfort and attention
Bring swimwear that stays secure, goggles that seal without excessive pressure, a towel, drinking water and any venue-required cap. Avoid testing several new pieces of equipment in the same first session.
Make the assessment useful
Share your experience, goals, health concerns and anything that makes water feel unpredictable. The coach should explain the venue, stop signal, first task and how progress will be reviewed.
- Arrive early enough to find the changing area.
- Do not train through dizziness or pain.
- Ask what to practise before the next session.
