Course content
Session-by-session pathway
24 sessions · 10 weeks. The sample pathway progresses from equipment control to technique, performance and review.
Equipment & body line
- Pool / confined water
Objectives
- Bifin and monofin technique from basic to intermediate
Core activities
- The coach introduces the skill, guides focused drills and gives direct feedback.
Target capability
- Show more consistent execution and receive an adjusted goal for the next session.
Safety noteApnea or immersion content is never practised alone and appears only when the programme, venue and qualified supervision allow it.

How coaching and progress assessment work
The recreational track — focused on enjoyment, fitness, and the feeling of speed. No competition pressure. Learn proper technique to enjoy finswimming as a complete aquatic sport.

How coaches adapt the pathway
Recreational follows a progressive framework, but sequence, repetitions and challenge are adjusted after the coach observes readiness, movement quality and safety behaviour.
- Readiness is confirmed before difficulty, distance or depth increases.
- Feedback prioritises repeatable technique and safe decision-making over a single performance number.
- The next task is selected from observed capability, not from attendance alone.
You don't need to race to feel what it's like to fly underwater.
How progress is assessed
- Coach observation during preparation and technical practice.
- Application with the required supervision, communication and recovery procedure.
- A progress note identifying what is stable, what needs work and the recommended next step.
