In brief

What you will learn

  • Direction is set before power.
  • The first cycle should preserve the body line.
  • Use markers to compare repeatable exits.

Leave the wall in the direction you intend

A strong push cannot rescue a line aimed too deep or across the lane. Set hands, head, trunk and feet before extending.

Delay the first rushed movement

Hold a controlled shape, then begin propulsion without breaking at the hips.

  • Use one visual marker for depth.
  • Compare several moderate push-offs.
  • Stop if equipment fit changes during the turn.
