In brief

What you will learn

  • A harder kick may hide rather than solve balance.
  • Head position changes the whole body line.
  • Test one variable at a time.

Look forward less

Lifting the eyes and head often lowers the hips. Test a longer neck and a downward gaze during a supported glide before changing the kick.

Separate balance from fitness

Short, quiet glides reveal more than exhausting repeats. Film or ask a coach to observe one variable at a time.

  • Release unnecessary neck tension.
  • Exhale without collapsing the chest.
  • Add propulsion only after the body line improves.
